After one year break, Rally Finland is back again. This time not in traditional summer time but in October which means that starting further back does not have to be such a disadvantage as on other gravel events. Who is our favorite this year? Lets see in our event preview.
Favorites:
Rovanpera vs. Tanak
Two biggest favorites are clear. Tanak showed us amazing speed on fast roads in the past. Winner in 2018 and 2019 in Finland. The biggest difference this year will be that he starts with Hyundai. His main rival Rovanpera will start with Toyota which was developed on fast Finnish roads and won every year there so far. Bookmakers see Rovampera as a big favorite. Bigger than we believe he is. Value on Tanak seems to be very attractive this time. He had nothing to lose and will really push. And We believe that as Rovanpera won on home soil of Tanak, this time it can be revenge.
Elfyn Evans
Elfyn desperately needs good result to keep at least some hope in the championship fight with Ogier. And if Toyota will have as dominant car as in the past, he is definitely a big candidate for the third podium spot. And odds seem very nice on that.
Possible suprise:
Espekka Lappi
Winner of Rally Finland of 2017 could be one of the favorites. But against him might be lack of driving this season. He also already admits hesitation during the test and that is something that can be a big problem if you want to think about victory. But if Lappi finds his form during the event he can be very very fast!
