After a one year break WRC will return back to Portugal. Crews will be competing on legendary gravel stages around Porto. And who are favorites? And from who we do not expect so mech? Well let’s see in our preview.

Favorites:

Ott Tanak
Ott after not the best Rally Croatia will have a very good starting position. And if is dry like usual starting position is crucial on gravel stages in Portugal. He won last time there and he tested his i20 multiple times there. He is definitely the biggest favorit.

Outsiders:

Sebastien Ogier
Why should be current champion outsider especially after such last performance in Croatia? He will struggle as a first car on the road as he struggle in Arctic Rally. He was able to finish 3rd in 2019 after problems of his rivals. But if stays dry and if others stay out of trouble he really can finish out of top 5.

Possible surprises:

Sordo and Rovanpera
We could see last two years in Sardinia what Sordo can do if he has good starting position on rally which he likes. And Portugal is definitely one of them. Kalle Rovanpera will start 5th and he is always fast. In 2019 he dominated in R5 category in Portugal. Both Sordo and Rovanpera are definitely candidates for podium.
