Rally Croatia will be a brand new rally for basically all wrc crews. Tarmac bumpy roads are a good challenge not only for drivers, but also for their engineers. Making the right setup for this kind of road was never easy. Big challenge looks also tarmac changes what means grip changes and really significant one. Rain could make this rally incredibly tricky.
Favorites
Sebastien Ogier
World champion showed that he already feels very good on tarmac in his Toyota. He won last two tarmac rallies in Monza and Monte Carlo. He is also always very strong on new rallies and stages where drivers have to drive according to their pacenote made just before the rally. Last time we could see this on Rally Corsica 2018 where organisers prepared basically all new rally and Sebastien won after a dominant performance.
Outsiders
Craig Breen
It is first WRC tarmac Rally for Breen since Spain 2018 and first tarmac in his i20 ever. Hyundai also on tarmac can not be as fast as main rivals in Toyota. Breen also did not showed us the best performance in Arctic Rally where we definitely could expect more.
Stage preview
On gravel is usually advantage start as much back as possible. On tarmac it is opposite because of cutting. Every car pulls gravel on the road and make it more and more difficult for crew starting behind. This effect is even bigger when is wet.
